What Does a Direct Burial Involve?
Your loved one does not need to be embalmed. For a more natural approach, they can be wrapped in a natural linen or cotton shroud, or placed in a biodegradable coffin made from materials such as wicker, cardboard or other natural materials.
The burial can be entirely private, or family and friends can attend. You can choose whatever level of involvement feels right for you and your family.
